Another Juvenile?
A pair chiffchaffs have been living on the banks of the Nuns' Stream all this year. I blipped one in January and either the same one or the partner in February. This one, I'm almost certain, is one of their young, living in the exact same bit of the stream bank and looking very sweet and ruffled. I came across it on the way home from a rather short morning walk and it was kind enough to just sit there, doing a slightly stunned impression, but long enough for me to take several clear shots.
So that was the start of my day. For the rest, it's been rather grey on the whole - not really the day for the butterfly reserve - so apart from a quick trip into town I've spent the time in the garden, mostly raking compost over some of the beds. There's rather a lot still to do, but I'm quite pleased with progress. In and out of this there have been so many white butterflies in my very small patch, but absolutely no other butterflies, which I find rather odd. It will be interesting to see what the Great Butterfly Count will produce in the way of info.
Hope your weekend's been a good one. Enjoy your Sunday evening and may the week begin well for you xx
