I'm glad Steven noticed these seed heads from the Cuckoo Pint (Lords and Ladies) plant whilst he was retrieving a ball from under the Copper Beech hedge for Luna and her friends.  They are quite attractive but extremely poisonous and have now been disposed of.   I don't think any of the dogs would try them, but rather safe than sorry.
According to Wikipedia there are 19 different names for this plant !!
