At the seaside

This is Portobello, billed as "Edinburgh's seaside", although there is also a beach at Cramond. There's a lot going on at Portobello, including a fair number of cafes. I took this picture on a photoshoot with my photography group, Wifie. The weather had started out wet but the rain had stopped by the time we met and by the end of our trip it was getting brighter. Our overall subject was People and Place and our brief was to choose a theme and take photos to illustrate it. I wasn't feeling very brave so I took mostly distant shots of people doing some of the many things that people do at the seaside without the groups interacting, but I aimed at a composition which balanced the various elements. You can judge for yourself if I've been successful!
