Market Day!

Today Rachel, with the help of her dad, myself and Mary, took 5 calves to market.

We had a bit of a wait before they were to be sold, so spent some time looking at the sheep, as Rachel also has a small flock of sheep and lambs, tho none in the auction today.

The top picture is a cute sheep that caught me eye. I'm rubbish with sheep breeds tho, so couldn't tell you what he is.

The next shot is of half of the sheep auction building after the auctioneer and bidders have moved on to the other half. Mary's grampy is chatting away with a chap who owns a stud farm where Rachel's mare is currently staying until she's pregnant again.

The bottom shot is Rachel and Mary keeping an eye on the bidding of one of their calves.

It was a hot day and Mary had been getting very tired but she perked up enough to eat a whole ice cream by herself. On the way home she was given an apple too, and managed half of that before suddenly dropping off to sleep!

We arrived back at the farm about half an hour later. Mary woke up and was her usually perky self immediately, " telling " grandma all about her morning. Grandma made us all some delicious scrambled egg on toast.

I then had to dash off to meet my friend Helen and her son. I had arranged to accompany them on a shopping trip to get new school shoes for Ben. We had a cheeky hot chocolate at the Thorntons cafe too.

Back home for an omelette dinner ( I do like eggs! ) and then off again to see another friend for a catch up chat.

Home about 11pm, phoned Sav, had a cup of tea and now in bed!

Sorry for the lack of commenting lately, but as you can see, it was such a full on day and I haven't had access to wifi until now.

Will be on top of it again next week when I'll be back in Wiltshire.
