London Vets

Friends of my daughter’s are coming for early tea. They are over from London Town. They are mostly vegetarian. So they are getting IKEA’s vegetarian sausages with Maris Piper Mash, fried onions and gravy (jct alert - fry the onions, when softened throw in a cup of water, soya sauce and a soup spoon of cranberry sauce still in your fridge from last Christmas - this caramelises the onions and makes a sweet salty gravy).

For dessert they are getting apple sponge and ice cream. Apples (FG - from garden). I have tons of them.

They are off to Howth then apparently and hope to end up in some nightclub or other in Dublin.

I suggested an early swim in Bray in the morning but I was met with blank stares and suppressed guffaws.

Ah well sure. I did try.
