The morning harvest

The photo comes from the pre-breakfast roam around the garden picking the berries that are ripe.
We spent the whole day in the garden and didn't leave our house and garden at all. Grass cutting, lupin removal, weeding and staking up the peas.
Partly this gardening frenzy happened because we've been away and there are a lot of jobs need doing, and partly it's because there's a lot of rain forecast so the gardening opportunities may be very restricted for a few days from tomorrow.
The weather warning predicts up to 100mm of rain in the 24 hours from 7 o'clock tomorrow morning. The hatches have been battened down!
Our evening was relaxed as we had a visit from Alexander as he heads north. He's the son of friends of ours and was at school in the north doing all the usual subjects plus cross-country skiing. We are about half-way between Älvsbyn in the north and his home in the south. We had a pleasant evening talking about beer and other subjects.
