Paddle and dip

On what was the hottest day of the year so far, Sarah and I decided to cool off on the river for the evening. We had expected it to be cooler by 8pm but it was still so warm! It did feel cooler on the river though and dipping our feet in the water was perfect.
I was sooo excited to, not only spot a kingfisher but to be able to sit silently on our paddleboards and watch as it dipped and dived felt like such a privilege. I’ve never seen one before and we were so close! Not a great photo but can be seen in the extra.
We were still out paddling when the moon was up and until the last bit of light faded away, it was bliss after a busy and very hot day at school.
