Es i i'r deintydd heddiw, ar draws y gyfnewidfa ofnadwy. Heddiw oedd echdynnu ac eithaf gwaith caled i'r deintydd. Rydw i'n brifo ac rydw i'n gallu disgwyl anghysur am ychydig o ddiwrnodau.

Rydw i wedi sylw yn aml am y gyfnewidfa a sut gwnaeth e ddinistrio'r gymuned yno. Un o’r adeiladau yno oedd 'Boots the Chemists' ac rydw i'n cofio siop drionglog gyda'r drws ar y 'pwynt'. Wel nawr rydw i wedi ffeindio (a phrynu) ffotograff o 20fed Awst 1968 [1]. Felly heddiw roeddwn i'n meddwl fy baswn i'n ceisio ymuno'r hen ffotograff a ffotograff newydd o'r ardal.

Tynnais i ffotograff gyda'r camera Fuji, a phan roeddwn i yn y deintydd gwnes i drosglwyddo'r ffotograff i fy ffôn a chwarae gyda fe gyda 'snapseed' a 'pixlr' i geisio troshaenu hen a newydd.

Rydych chi'n gallu gweld, ger yr hen safle bws, mae rhai o'r adeiladau wedi cael eu dymchwel. Mae'r wal yna yn nawr cario hysbyseb bara (roedd hysbyseb paent, flynyddoedd yn ôl) [2].

Hefyd, mae’r map yr AO ar 'Cardiffians [3] [4] yn dangos yr hen reilffordd a'r pwynt lle'r A469 a A470 yn ymuno. Mae'r siop 'Boots' ar y pwynt hwn.

Dwedodd Joni Mitchell 'Dydych chi ddim yn gwybod beth sydd gennych chi nes ei fod wedi mynd', a baswn i'n ychwanegu, 'Dydych chi ddim yn gwybod beth oedd gennych chi cyn aeth e’.

I went to the dentist today, across the awful interchange. Today was extraction and quite hard work for the dentist. I'm sore and I can expect discomfort for a few days.

I've often commented about the exchange and how it destroyed the community there. One of the buildings there was 'Boots the Chemists' and I remember a triangular shop with the door on the 'point'. Well now I have found (and bought) a photograph from 20th August 1968[1]. So today I thought I would try to join the old photograph and a new photograph of the area.

I took a photograph with the Fuji camera, and when I was at the dentist I transferred the photograph to my phone and played with it with 'snapseed' and 'pixlr' to try to overlay old and new.

You can see, near the old bus stop, some of the buildings have been demolished. That wall now carries a bread advert (it was a paint advert, years ago) [2].

Also, the OS map on 'Cardiffians [3] [4] shows the old railway and the point where the A469 and A470 join. The 'Boots' shop is at this point.

Joni Mitchell said 'You don't know what you've got until it's gone', and I would add, 'You don't know what you had before it went’.

The 'Boots' shop is now a car park (or ‘parking lot’).
