Schwarzwald

Today we drove from our little French village back into Germany to tour a bit of the Black Forest. We stopped for a couple hours at the Schwartzwälder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof where we gleamed a taste of German farm life in the 17th and 18th Centuries. Then we indulged in the region's famous black forest chocolate cherry cake and other cafe treats.

Our trip continued on to the mountain town of Triberg, where Germany's highest waterfall is located. Here we also stopped in some of the little shops that sell hand-carved wooden ornaments and elaborate cuck-coo clocks. The architecture of half-timbered houses is punctuated everywhere with the most beautiful gardens and cascading window baskets of bright flowers, all story-book charming and picturesque. But I took very few pictures and so this is all I have to show for the day!
