Moulin Vollach

Here is a collection of shots from the beautifully renovated 16th century mill that we rented with our friends for a week in Alsace, France. The idyllic property, located just outside the tiny village of Ingwiller, is named Moulin Vollach and is situated among rolling green wooded hills and offers three small streams that once fed the mill and now provide a beautiful place to splash or relax on the banks.

The rental house can comfortably accommodate 16 guests in eight bedrooms with five toilets, four showers, two sitting rooms, a huge fireplace, a baby grand piano, and a stocked playroom for kids. The kitchen and dining areas are well equipped for cooking and serving a large crew. There is even a fabulous bar room with tables and chairs for a much larger group to gather. Nearby are wonderful trails to walk, run or bike and the historic city of Strasbourg is only about a 40 minute drive away.

Adjoining the rental house are the offices and private apartment of our thoughtful and very gracious hosts, Marie-Louise and Philippe. We enjoyed one evening with them, hearing stories of their life raising four boys on the property as they worked on the renovations of their dream home, as well as about their extensive travels and involvement with Rotary International.

If you are ever looking to vacation in Alsace, I highly recommend this beautiful villa. We've had a splendid visit!
