When the door bell rings . . .

. . . and it is not the postman as you expected, but is someone you haven't seen for a long time and who has 'just called by' - you drop everything and spend a lovely afternoon chatting and reminiscing.

Or at least Tim and Gordon did most of the remembering as they were at school together  - a long time ago. 

Tim Barker is still a professional actor, although not doing very much now as he is technically retired. We have caught up with him in many  productions over the years. The last time we saw him was at Keswick this year where he did his wonderful 'Hamlet in Cumbrian Dialect'. After living in London, he has been back home in Cumbria for many years now, but these two guys just never make the effort to meet up.

Until one of them gets it into his head to 'go for a drive and drop by'. A lovely, lovely surprise and a happy afternoon. They must not leave it so long again.  

(In my blip they had been making hard work of checking they had each other's contact numbers - very amusing to watch.)
