The Haar

The rain has stopped, but the Haar has descended. The lovely Scottish summer weather continues.

We had a few bus journeys today, so I bought myself a network ticket, something I’ve never done before, and probably won’t do again.

Our first journey was to North Berwick. The route was diverted apparently, but as we don’t know the usual route, we were none the wiser. We were early for our lunch date, so went for a walk. There wasn’t much to see. Visibility wasn’t good. No sign if the Bass Rock today.

We then met up with friends at our appointed venue, and had such a lovely catch up over tasty food and a few drinks (Hence the bus). We haven’t seen them since last year, and it’s even longer since they last saw BB, so they were delighted that he joined us. He left early (once fed), to catch a bus home. We then all jumped on the bus to Edinburgh. Our friends got offbeat their campsite, but TT and I continued all the way to Edinburgh, and had almost lost the will to live by the time we got there.

We then dashed up to meet another set of friends for a quick drink, before going to see The Unthanks. I didn’t know who they were, and probably wouldn’t have chosen to go and see them. but I’m really glad I went, as I really enjoyed their show, we all did.

TT and I had to then go and catch a bus home, which turned out to be the last bus! We were pretty weary when we got home, and totally bussed out.

This is the view at West Bay at lunchtime. The extra is The Unthanks.
