Raindrops on Sundrop

After a wet night, the morning stayed dry, so B and I went for our usual walk. To reach the vineyards, we need to cross an area with gardens and allotments, where these pretty flowers - called sundrops or evening-primroses - are growing all along the road, looking very pretty. They aren’t native in Europe, so I suppose they have escaped from one of the gardens.

Coming back home, I gave B about two kilograms of Mirabelles (there’s still plenty left) and a jar of chutney to try. Then I used the dry day to mow the grass in our back garden. I had left a part of the former lawn to grow into a wildflower patch, but now it was time to cut it down with the scythe (which makes me feel somewhat medieval every time I use it) and mow the stubble.
I then had just enough energy left to give our beech hedge a trim, before going back into my office for some “real” work.
