Things are getting a bit desperate in my little fruit preservation manufacture, because the mirabelles on the tree are starting to split after the recent rain showers. So I invited friends and neighbours to take as much as they want. I also picked another few kilos of fruit, and did what my grandmother would have done - canning them in glass jars.
It’s the first time I’ve tried this, and I’m curious to find out if it worked. It certainly is a lot easier and quicker than making jam or chutney.
I won’t have time for another try any time soon, though. I got a new work project today, after waiting for several weeks. It looks like the TV producers are finally getting back from their summer holidays.
