We're heading into
a heat wave - staying cool is
top priority

~carliewired

I was on my way to Rose Hill Road at 5 AM. Our national radio, CBC, noted the tsunami advisory for our provincial coastline has been removed following the Russian earthquake yesterday. However, we are under a heat advisory for our region, today and tomorrow.

I stopped at the top of the road facing my mountains for a pre-sun panorama. I drove on up to the open range where lots of cattle are visible and the bales of hay are being collected.

I encountered the ruffed grouse and her three babies. I stopped and waited for her to escort them into a field before driving on.

I met several hawks along the roadway. They all seem to like to perch on top of power poles. They must enjoy the view over the grasslands.

I took my last panorama of the rolling hills leading me back to the highway and the city.

I'm looking forward to meeting a friend for lunch. Otherwise, I will stay out of the heat.
