Sporobolus anglicus

Otherwise known as common cordgrass.  A salt marsh grass that has been widely planted to stabilise tidal mudflats.  I was walking on the salt marshes at Cark with friend C who was happy to  walk at snail's pace with me, looking up the names of many of the wild flowers we saw and identifying bird song.
