Wild Wednesday ...
... Ruby-throated Hummingbird at last!
As today is the third day with temperatures well into the upper 90's I haven't strayed far from home. I spent the morning in the sunroom reading the newspaper before it got too hot out there. And then after lunch spent time in the pool before retreating to the air conditioned house.
We were just getting ready to release monarch butterfly number 7 when I saw this gorgeous Ruby-throated Hummingbird enjoying our many flowers. My attention immediately shifted to him ... as did my camera. This one appears to be a juvenile male ... but I could be wrong about that. In any case I was thrilled to get several decent shots of him. Please have a look full screen.
The monarch butterfly can be seen in Extras. She was released in memory of fellow blipper Paola's daughter, Fay. And I was honored to do so.
