A walk around Davos Lake

It looks like this is turning out to be a damp squib of a summer here - we have had so much rain and it is quite cool too. Mind you, I should not complain as one of Gavin's colleagues has just got back from Majorca and he said it was unbearable at 35C, too hot to do anything and they could not wait to get home again. At least we can do activities here and not melt in the heat.

Today we planned a longer hike but it was raining all morning, so the longer hike lost its appeal. Instead we walked around Davos Lake in the drizzle, and it was rather cool. Despite the rain, look at the colour of that water! I have not adjusted the colours in any way and that grass is so vibrantly green.

As we finished our walk the sun broke through and there were blue skies and sunshine. We had a booking for nine holes of golf in the afternoon so decided to get back for that.

We enjoyed our golf, it even got quite warm and I regretted wearing a long sleeve top but by the time we finished I was pleased I had. I played okay - I had a great chip from off the green that landed straight in the hole which made me rather stupidly pleased. There are two ridiculous holes on this course that always make me mad, they are very frustrating to play - one is a par 3 up a very steep and very long hill and its blind so you cannot see the green. Usually my ball gets stuck on the side of the hill and then rolls back down again...grrr, so annoying!

Tonight we are having a relaxing evening at home and will watch some TV.

Tomorrow is National Day so I hope we have better weather.
