Koala....
Today's Flumlet entertainment took place in Edinburgh Zoo. I think the last time we were there was with my Australian friend in 2010 so it was as much of interest to we adults as to him.
Main photo is the cute factor - of the three koalas this was the one on visitor duty, the flower falling across its face unnoticed. To observe these secretive animals we entered through an atrium into the viewing room which was kept darkened and was fitted with a rubberised floor covering to minimise noise, having read warning notices to speak quietly. As you see, our cooperation was effective.
I have two collages of other photos that appealed to me, though we did see much more and enjoyed conversation with a delightful volunteer, who was suitably impressed by the Flumlet's knowledge. I make no comment about the condition of the animals except for the sun bear (collage 2, lower left), who we all considered was exhibiting distressed behaviour.
We trailed back down to the Penguin Cafe for lunch and a rest, following which he had a great time on the climbing frames. Our last visit was to the chimpanzees before heading back to Flum Towers for a game of monopoly (my, but that boy is merciless) until time to deliver him home to show off his own photographs and for us to return to put our aged feet up.
