Met big brother at a friend’s house just across the road from the gothic red brick monstrosity that is St Pancras. They don’t make em like that any more, thank god.

A fun evening (mostly) with a voyage around our father, much talk of Hay, fish and chips and onion rings, quite a lot of wine, and a lot of laughter.

Bumped into an old friend and neighbour who I haven’t seen for years and he told me that his wife had died a couple of months before at the age of sixty. Incredibly sad.

Travelling on the tube I saw an advert for the millennium wheel which described it as "ironic". Then I read it again and saw it was "iconic".

Big Brother had brown sauce on his fish and chips, That’s just wrong.

The day was all about the interminable paperwork of moving house …
