Beautiful day with incredible clarity. By pass was jamboed and sat nav took me an interesting route.

Fine views from the top of Mount Maw (535m) after huffing and puffing up the 215m from the the beautiful upland meadows of the Lynne Water. Looking sw to the Black Mount and north to East Cairn Hill.

The last extra is a curiosity as the sheep stayed in their green patch- maybe spring-fed land and or a deeper deposit of till/ boulder clay deposited on the lee of the lateral ridge as the last ice sheet moved southwards 10,000 years ago. And then the sheep frequenting the land and manuring it encouraging sweeter grasses in a virtuous circle. They were still there when I got back to the car an hour later.
