While on my runs

Big bird on small branches

A mid afternoon jog which was easy on the way out because so much was downhill. On the way back, the downhills were replaced by uphills which were hard even when walking.

My blip was taken early on the way down Rimutaka place. A solitary Kereru (NZ Wood Pigeon) was balanced on skinny branches (more like twigs) feeding on new leaves. It allowed me to take a number of photos.

I've included a couple of extras. The first was a newly placed sign describing the old bridge which continues in use for pedestrians, as the road is now far too busy and carries heavy vehicles.

The other shows what I believe are starlings on a field beside the Rimutaka-Huia Track. The field has a lot of detritus from the recent storms.
