Life in Sunny Dubai

Shere

(4/8/25)

Gosh, it's a new month. Suddenly, it feels like this year is fast disappearing.

Today has been much more conducive to painting. Dave arrived at 7:30 and got on with his work. Eileen and I ventured out to Shere for some lunch (I got treated to a burger at the Dabbling Duck). Shere is so picturesque, one could easily take a hundred pictures in an hour!

The big things today were Dave putting on two coats of paint on the Lodge. He did us a big favour and secured the poles that hold the awning up. In the afternoon, Sam came around in his van and fixed a small dent in the bumper of the hire car. I am so impressed with the quality of workmanship that you get over here. That concludes the work that we can do on the Lodge itself. I have to say, it looks very good. It would have been GREAT to have stained the skirting and the deck and rails as well, but with labour costs what they are now, it isn't worth the expense.

I was able to do a wash and hang it out in preparation for being away next week, all to music from the USB that we have whilst driving around in Dubai. I'm glad I brought that with me. :))
