Kaybees Bits

Well That's Not Right!

I slept better last night than I expected - but woke in more pain than when I went to bed.
So after breakfast there was a trip to A&E to have the ribs checked by an expert.
We arrived (before 9am and the board was saying 30 minute wait for triage and 3-4 hours for a doctor).
In between triage and being seen by the doctor I had an x-ray and was entertained and annoyed in equal measures by the increasing numbers of pondlife who had woken up and realised that their drunken weekend fights and antics had left them with broken hands, infections from unclean tattoo needles and the such.
When I was eventually seen by the doctor it was in the same cubical that SWMBO had been in when she had her stroke.
There are no 'obvious' broken ribs, but it is quite possible that there are hairline cracks and such that would not show up (they are not worried about them!!!).
We left just before 9am and were half way to the car (less than 400yds)   when the heavens opened and we were soaked to the skin before we made it to the car. By the time we half way home it was glorious sunshine again!
Storm Floris had arrived!!!
It moved the heavy sheet of glass on next doors garden table, removed one of the cross struts from my pergola and damaged some of the Wisteria as well as ripping growing tips from the Mahonia (in a 'sheltered' spot by the front door).

Pictures over here.

After changing clothes (all of them!) and having a hot drink we went down to the supermarket (in glorious sun) to buy a couple of things (including painkillers suggested by the doctor) and drop off some out-of-date medication and used coffee pods for recycling. As we walked to the car the heavens opened again! Luckily it was only a few yards and we didn't have to change again.

I have not been allowed out the garage today despite feeling that just standing would actually be beneficial.

This evening SWMBO wanted to go for a short walk to get up to her allotted daily step count. We got a couple of hundred yards and it started wetting again!! Not nearly as heavy so we walked round the bock rather than just turning back. It was probably just as well as I wouldn't have made it had the walk lasted any longer.
I think the fall has damaged me more than the x-ray showed and taken more out of me than I thought.
I must be getting old(er).
