You can Sail the 7 Seas

After the late night last night, we took it slightly easier today.

We rose late, had eggy sandwiches, and then jumped in the car for an nostaglic visit to HMS Raleigh.

Himself walked through these very gates 48 years ago this month.   We can't quite get our heads around it.   how can it possibly be quite so very long ago.   At this rate, I wasn't going to be born til after he completed his service.

After going past here, we took the Torpoint Ferry to Plymouth.    I remember being in Plymouth 36 years ago - again this doesn't seem possible.  Himself was having his "How to Get back into Civvie Street" course before he left.   I think actually he had about 6 month's leave before he "officially" became a Civvy and at the same time was working in the bar along side me.

We wandered around the lovely shopping centre and then outside, where Himself wanted to locate an Oggie  (Oi Oi Oi) .

He found one.  he was delighted   He held that GINORMOUS Oggie in his little mitt and wouldn't allow us near it.  He let it go for a moment, when i produced Portugeuse Tarts to go with the coffee i bought us to recover before the trip back.

- YES I DID FEEL SICK ON THE TORPOINT FERRY - DESPITE IT BEING PULLED ACROSS RIVER AND NOT SAILING.

The smell of his bloody Oggie nearly killed us on the way back in the car  it was unbelievable.

In the evening , we allowed him to nosh down on it, while Tooli and I demolished a pizza on our veranda.

After a successful game of Scrabble, where I WON by 1 POINT, i suggested we played Consequences.  Have you played that?  Tooli and Himself never had.  Look at my Extras to see the utter joy the game gave them.
