About to turn

Konza Prairie

The four of us walked on the tallgrass prairie today, W in his element. It's an amazing research area, and we walked under a wide, blazing blue sky. Down by the creek, dragonflies and damselflies and butterflies zipped around us; a couple hundred feet up on the ridge is a beautiful silence, except for the breeze, the click of a grasshopper, and the occasional killdeer's cry. It was a pleasure to introduce Isabelle to this place.

The main, with the Kansas River in the distance, is taken in more or less the same spot in which Harry took a black and white photo many years ago (the outlook is the same, although his photo is much superior). It hangs in Ellie's office.
