A bad start to the day!
My phone rang this morning while we were having breakfast - our friend Wally had pressed his emergency alarm after performing a swallow dive into the garden while carrying a tray of ashes out the back door.
In a previous life, isbi was a nurse so after we got him back on his feet and they’d posed for the obligatory blip, isbi clicked into gear. Wally’s ashen appearance has nothing to do with low blood pressure or peripheral circulation, it’s more to do with being covered in ash!!
He was able to see the obvious humour in the situation. While isbi was cleaning up his head wound and flushing the ash out of his eyes, Wally insisted on relating an unabbreviated account of the circumstances behind his misadventure, all in Wally’s usual colourful narrative.
We called in again this afternoon on the way back from the farm and he’s firing on all cylinders again.
A great advertisement for emergency call devices - what a huge advance for the elderly living alone!
