South Uist

At the encouragement of our host, I began the day with a swim in the Atlantic.  Much colder than our local Pacific shores, but a beautiful beach, a warm day and self-satisfaction that I made the plunge.  Note there is only one in the water....."someone had to be the photographer".  After leaving there we visited Flora McDonald's house, then found a beautiful woodland at Loch Eynort - the crofters' project of many years with local and exotic plants.  Back home and settling in for the night I looked out the window and saw the power line serving as roost for thousands of starlings.  Just before the sun disappeared, they all flew off at once.
