Langass Woods

"Langass Woods provides a unique environment for trees and wildlife to flourish" says the website.  It is a heroic project with nice trails, but sadly the woodland does not look healthy.  The trails were nice, and there was a surprising tribute in a small clearing - an 8 foot wooden sculpture of a bear.  Photo 2 explains how a grizzly bear / media star escaped during shooting a commercial for Andrex, and lived free on the Uists for 24 days before being tranquilized, captured and returned to his owners.  And apparently they all lived happily every after.
