A full day of it out and about.
Kicked off the day at the conference centre with a BBC event, a recording of Front Row with Kristy Wark - guests were Brian Cox, jazz trumpeter Jay Phelps, comedians Zainab Johnson and Desiree Burch, plus The Bengsons (whose show 'Ohio' we later bought tickets for further into their run). A nice way to start the day and perfect timing for a spot of lunch afterwards down the road at Milk - a cafe I've loved in the past but haven't been to for ages. Their Turkish eggs did not disappoint, hitting the spot like you wouldn't believe.
There then followed three shows at The Pleasance Courtyard with the split between shows two and three allowing plenty of time to head up to Matto in Newington for aperitivo time and pizza (see extra - campari spritz and charcuterie, don't mind if I do).
So, the shows...
Ben Moor - whimsical storytelling with plenty of clever wordplay in there.
Fuselage - an unsurprisingly hard-hitting Lockerbie-based play.
Toussaint Douglass - a very fun stand-up show in a great little venue, one of the 'bunkers'.
Less planned tomorrow. I say that but...you never know.
