Another Day, Another Bowls Match

TUESDAY

I was out the door just after 9:00 a.m. and headed over to Rhos-on-Sea for today’s bowls match. The A55 was running clear, and I covered the 19 miles in just 25 minutes.

It was a warm and sunny morning, with a stiff breeze. I played at number one, so was straight onto the green after the 10-minute practice session  and managed a comfortable win, 21–6.

The team had six winners out of ten and picked up another two points for the aggregate. A good away result, though unfortunately not quite enough to put pressure on the other teams chasing the two promotion spots, as they also scored well today.

We are now around two-thirds of the way through the bowling season. Abergele currently sit top of the division, with Rhuddlan (my team) in second place. Rhyl, who also picked up eight points today, are close behind — just one point adrift in third place and snapping at our heels.

After the match, I nipped over to Llandudno to pick up some food from M&S. This evening has been spent wrestling with my iPhone 15 pro and deleting stuff as  the storage is at full capacity, making it difficult to update the software, use WhatsApp, or even take photos.

On a brighter note, now that Storm Floris has passed, I’ve finally been able to put the hanging baskets back up.
