Chesil Bank

Today I met my friend J at West Bay in Dorset. It's a lovely place - where Harbour Lights and Broadchurch were filmed. After a good breakfast we explored the village and sat awhile on the relatively new Jurassic Pier. The RNLI had to make announcements for walkers to come down off the unstable cliffs. 
After a cream tea we headed off to Abbotsbury and walked over to Chesil Beach. It stretches 18 miles from Portland to West Bay and a large part of it is separated from the mainland by the Fleet Lagoon - a haven for wildlife. My main Blip is standing on the beach looking towards Portland and the extra is taken from up on the hill road. 
We had a very tasty fish and chip supper back on the old Pier and thankfully the seagulls kept away.
A long, but great day out with glorious weather.
