A view from Jeanneb

Garden visitor

A dry and sunny morning so I spent some time in the garden.
I planted the two geraniums we got from New Coley at the weekend, they had been left because of the wet weather brought by Storm Floris over the last two days.

I first noticed the berries on the Rowan in the back garden. Lovely and bright though the leaves are looking a bit worse for wear. In contrast the ‘new’ Rowan planted during lockdown in the front garden has very healthy looking leaves and more berries than we’ve had before but they are a paler pink/orange so not very easy to see (Extra). The tree is still small largely thanks to the adjoining,  massive Laurel which isn’t ours!
I was really just re acquainting myself with the fixed lens camera that my son gave me some years ago. He bought it for the wildlife in Kenya when he was posted there. I’ll be using it a bit more now until we see what’s happening with my compact.
I do have another with separate lenses but I don’t really want to carry that around and tend to just use it with a macro attachment in the garden

I caught a glimpse of a butterfly as I was walking away from the Rowan. A Red Admiral that settled on the flowering currant.
Yeah! My first real butterfly blip of the year! They seem to be all out now.
