FURNESS ABBEY
Weather was good this morning so whilst Hubby was cutting the hedges and shrubs I took Garron to Furness Abbey,
We hadn't been around the Abbey site itself for about 3 years so it was time for a revisit. We had a lovely mooch in the Visitor Centre, which is excellent, then just had a slow wonder among the ruins. since the last visit there is now an observation platform, which I managed to climb up OK, Garron needed some assistance but he made it. They could do with a bench on the platform, as it is more than big enough, for those with mobility issues that struggle up there. It was worth the climb though.
A helicopter flew overhead so I took a photo of it, to only then realise it was an Air Ambulance, hopefully just on an exercise today (I hope).
We then called into The Abbey House Hotel for sandwiches and a cold cooling drink before coming back home.
A really lovely morning.
That's all for now, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
We enjoyed our mooch.
