The Oven Lions

I have a bit of a mental block sometimes when it comes to remembering the names of flowers.
One of my favourite shrubs for instance, Choisya, took me years to get into my head. It stuck eventually but it took a while. 

The star of today's Blip is of course Agapanthus. I was told this name lots and lots of times over the years, but I could never remember it. Then one day, annoyed at myself, I decided to say to myself if was the oven lions. AGA- PANTHERS!
All it took was a few times reminding myself it was the oven lions, which meant agapanthus, and finally it stuck!

However, I do still always think Oven Lions when I see one.

It's strange how I remember linguistic terms that I learned years and years ago, and scientific terms that I learned even longer ago, but with flowers I seem to have a problem. But I am getting there through slightly daft word associations.

The week is halfway done. And now so is this Blip.
