Whirling Butterflies
I spent the morning making preserves with the plentiful supply of vegetables we have at the moment. I’ve been preparing the ingredients for a few days so today I was able to bottle up pickled shallots and make the finishing touches to a batch of cucumber relish. I also made four jars of courgette chutney. The kitchen smelled amazing!
After lunch I popped to the allotment to drop off items for composting. I returned with raspberries, blackberries, beetroot, French beans, chard, onions and plums. The plums are to be cut open to see if they have been infested with the larvae of plum fruit moth - a problem I had last year.
Afterwards it was quite a rush to get to yoga and after a non-stop day I was so happy to relax with some gentle stretches and balances, and the nurturing words of our teacher. I nearly fell asleep in the relaxation session at the beginning of the class!
I liked the earthy tones amidst the light airy flowers of these Gaura ‘whirling butterflies’ and so this is my blip for today.
