Tea and Conversation
Volunteering today. Our main tasks were planting out seedlings of early purple sprouting broccoli and Florence fennel. It’s quite a process as we have to weed, then dress the bed, plant the seedlings at a particular spacing, then water them and construct poles and netting to protect them from insect pests. Then we label the beds and record what we’d planted in the log book. Then it’s time for tea, cake and good conversation. I’m so grateful for the whole experience.
I’m searching for a hydrangea to go in a pot on our patio. This one was in flower in the cutting flower garden at Tuppenny Barn where I volunteer. It’s not quite the variety I want to get but I thought it’s flower heads most impressive.
This afternoon, thanks to a couple of blippers recommendations, I started listening to the Strangers on a Bench podcast series. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. So many issues touched upon, through interesting and inspiring life stories.
