Busy Day
There were two major events today, regretfully I placed one as an extra though no less important.
Main photo Hamza Yassin taking a bow after his talk at Fringe By The Sea, which had been rescheduled from Monday's stormy day; unfortunately only four of our original seven were able to go but the Flumlet thoroughly enjoyed it. Rightly so, as Hamza is an interesting speaker and his informal talk included references to his dyslexia as well as his passion for animals and their survival as well as his adventures when filming. Generous with his time, he promised to stay afterwards in the book tent until the last person in the queue had been seen - after an hour of waiting, having advanced two feet only, we bought the book from the roving trolley and departed with it unsigned.
Home for a quick meal and change and we were out to St Vincent's Chapel for a piano recital extraordinaire (extra of the final bow) by Cirque du Piano, being three pianists playing together on one keyboard, with a little diversion during the Swiss item, when the top part was played on a mini grand piano, with the tone of a chiming clock. The chapel was lit only with around 70 candles (battery operated) which, with the sumptuous stained glass of full heraldic achievements, created a formal backdrop to the sound of 30 fingers playing with such skill. This was my June birthday gift from the younger Flums, and most enjoyable.
