A particularly good birthday this year.

Minor drama early on when Ian fell of his ladder in the garden (ambulance, blood) (he’s fine now). We went for a walk down to the harbour, looked in some shops, then intended to have a coffee at Underfall. In the end by the time we got down there it was after midday and we both decided we’d prefer a pint, so back to The Cottage. Pic in extras because their flowers are looking top notch.

Home for lunch and a lazy ish afternoon, then in the evening we headed up to Whiteladies with the gang. Drink at Vittoria first, then to Condesa for dinner.

Oh my gosh. I’ve been planning that as my bday meal for months and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered one of every veggie item on the menu, then a few extra bits on top.

I think my favourite was the queso fresco with hot agave and chillis… or the artichoke… or the ginormous smashed potato. This peach picante cocktail was also incredible. The girls all ordered pudding but the boys (none of them particularly sweet toothed) went in for a round of “dessert chicken wings”.

A final pint down the road, excellent bday all round.
