Fading beauty

While parts of the garden still look trampled after the storm, some survive.

The petals on this head of roses held on but many are beginning to lose their colour providing different shades. The perfume is sweet and intense.

A day of cleaning, tidying up and preparation before a friend of nearly 40 years arrived for a few days. I missed the dinner as I had a Kirk Session meeting which fortunately did not go on too long so back in time for dessert then lots of chat.
