Incident

A bit of a pottering day catching up on emails, writing up notes, shopping and being on hand for a blind fitter. A person who fits blinds, not a ……. You get the gist.

Our visiting friend headed out to a couple of fringe events during the day and meeting up with other friends. Then he kindly treated us to a local Italian meal. It was my first time there and it was very good.

Our route home was circuitous. While in the restaurant there has been a lot of emergency vehicle traffic. Apparently a chimney fire.

As I was driving home every route was blocked off either by police cars or tape with firemen behind it overseeing hoses fixed to fire hydrants. The slight irritation was that you had to drive down a road to find it blocked then turn around and try to go round. There was no diversion sign or officers indicating that the road ahead was blocked. Only a slight irritation and hopefully no one was injured.
