horns of wilmington's cow

By anth

He's got a lot of flare....

Grangemouth was making the sky glow even from the miles away where we are. Popped out to see if it was as impressive closer up, which it wasn't really (and it's not really a good thing anyway). Abandoned the spot I'd long thought of as a great location for just this occurence.... After hopping a gate to reach a little knoll, with a ragged line of 4 or 5 old, native trees stretching down as if to point at the flare, I realised in the dark that there were cows in the field. Fortunately had my wits about me, and backed out the 20 yards I;d gone in - it's the time of year they have young, and I'm not messing with any bovine darkness.

Had been down to North Queensferry for a wander after dinner with Mel, finishing off the roll of Kentmere 200 in the Pentax ME Super. Obligatory bridge shot in the extras.
