Pausing in the shade

A Sunday which slid away quickly while I made plum jam and raspberry jam, and further prepared 1kg of shallots for pickling.

Here’s Merlin in the shade of a tree in the meadow. After he’s checked the community orchard for fallen apples, this is where he goes and sits quietly waiting for us to catch-up. On warm days I carry a bottle of water and a bowl and he has a drink while we sit for a while and watch the world go by.
