Common Darter

The start of yet another heat wave and the air is so thick I'm finding it a struggle to do anything today... even had a puff on the reliever, and that's a rare event nowadays. Feels like we are due a thunderstorm, but I don't think it's forecast.

Anyhow, this Common Darter was happy enough in the sunshine, and sat here long enough for me to experiment with shooting at 200 and 400 and 600mm. I even tried some fill flash as the Sun was above and behind it, but to be honest the Sun was stronger. This is 400mm.

Still trying to avoid most of the news, but since they're* now killing journalists presumably in the hope they won't report on genocide, arresting people for peacefully protesting presumably in the hope they'll stop deploring genocide and using military to clear the homeless from the streets (to where) while carving up someone else's country, it's hard.
