The aftermath

Grey and black sum up the day. The skies were grey all day long. While the temperature rose towards 22oC the sun never broke through.

My trip out and back to the garage beyond the airport to drop the car off for its service and MOT provided little opportunity for bright photos. The same was true of the return trip to pick the car (which passed). Even the festival and fringe goers looked a bit subdued.

In between the 3+ hours of travelling by car or bus I got on with church paperwork; had an enjoyable lunch with a visiting friend of my wife’s; then had an evening church meeting on a heating project.

The black refers of course to Arthur’s Seat. In daylight today the extent of the damage was clear to see. Apparently it is the same on the other side of the hill. At least the tourists are back climbing the hill for the views of the city. The rain which began to fall last night no doubt helped and this evening’s rain will have added to the dampening effect.
