Cooling Off

An Orange-winged Dropwing doing its characteristic handstand to keep cool, on the back wiper of our car after I'd rinsed the dust off. Last year I blipped these several times, and they are back this year, doing their handstands everywhere.

We have decamped to the Ibis in Évora, to hopefully get a decent night's sleep in the cool. Trying to choose between two comedies at the cinema, another place with air con. We do have air con, but our batteries only cope till around five, when there are still hours of heat to contend with. Hoping this is the last of these 40C+ days... It really is no joke, and I worry about the elderly poor who have badly insulated homes and no air con.

Gratefuls:
- that we are able to come to the cool for a night
- Julia using her 30th birthday present for the first time 
- a conversation going OK; I have now officially taken myself off the Member Care Leadership team for our organisation, phew
