Plan B
Tony detached the stump from the ground and surrounding soil yesterday late afternoon and, in the evening, four neighbours appeared to help him to move it near to the giant compost heap. It may be a stumpery at some point but for now we have more important jobs in the drying ground.
Once he has a project, Tony has to see it through so he has passed today levelling the ground inside the gateway and creating the steps. They were supposed to go to the right but when he cleared away the excess soil and plants, there were several huge slabs in the way, hence Plan B.
I spent a couple of hours before the sun appeared, shifting some more brambles and clearing the way for Tony's steps then came home to make lunch.
Afterwards I took a walk to the garden centre for a couple of cards and yet another pair of gardening gloves. I also plucked up courage to ask the owner if I might have discount on a bench for the drying ground. They get a lot of such requests so I'm not very hopeful but the owner remembered me because Pinkdragen worked there in her younger days so she took my details and I'll wait to hear.
I promise no more Drying Ground Blips for a while but it's been a busy few days up there so good to record progress.
