The Scarlet Pimpernel

I spotted these little flowers as we walked along the edge of the estuary. It turns out to be Scarlet Pimpernel, which surprised me as it didn't look scarlet. I now know that it has a variety of colours icluding bright red, orange, white and blue.  Having identified it, I kept seeing it as we walked along.

It has other names including poor man's barometer, poor man's weather-glass, shepherd's weather glass, which are because the flowers only open in sunshine.

My extra is from last night's sunset, similar to BrambleBlossom's Blip, but my anonymous Fisherman is catching the last rays of the sun.
