Boozer
The glorious weather continues. 23.5ºC !! In Granton. I ask you. So I pumped up MrB’s tyres and he accompanied me round Leith, as he likes to do. We stopped in at Moonwake’s shop to pick up some tins – a visitor arrives tomorrow, after all.
Later we sat out in the sun and read awhile while behind us the neighbours could be heard chopping away and thinning the rose and bamboo. Time to head out – to the Leith Depot where there’s a series of six Fringe events – Vic Galloway in conversation with various peeps. OK, it was my fault we were there today – I’d got a notification that Rick Redbeard, everyone’s favourite troubadour, was one of the number. Onto it! Except Rick is showing up on Sunday and I’d bought Tuesday tickets. And who had I bought tickets for? None other than the superlative Cloth! Yes, Rachael and Paul Swinton. A sold out show, needless to say. So I was one happy chappito. I gotta say I enjoyed it hugely. And not forgetting Siobhan Wilson, the organiser of the whole thing and support act.
And by judicious timing, we just missed the bus so had to go on for an extra beer. Irvine Welsh has been promoting the “Leith Social Club” – a fitting out of the old Tam O’ Shanter into a new retro bar, so we had to check that out. I wonder how long we should give it.
