The Pensioner

What was lost

A morning trip to a favourite place – Port Edgar – I have a birthday coming up and m’lady always likes to get me something for the boat, amongst the vast number of other presents which she showers me with (hopefully). And while out there, we bump into Andy and Joy. Andy points out a Muggi - a multi-cup holder. It’s a game changer, he declares confidently. You know, I do think it is something I have need of. The SK is having none of it, so end up buying it myself.
Home to continue sifting and sorting – amongst other things, I’ve only recently gained custody of a folder of pictures I had which I had when I was a student and which followed me round the country thereafter. Such a joy to look through. It was somehow like dissecting and laying out all my constituent parts; these appealed back then, and they still very much do.
Later, out to see Weapons, partly attracted by Middleman’s review of it. It’s terrific! Following the story from the view of all the main protagonists in turn, and then a screamer of an ending which was laugh out loud hilarious (and gruesome). Superb.
